If the brake is pressed will one push start it?
|
Yes. You hold the button 3 seconds.

This is fabulous. It would be great to find a very small RF tag to be cloned and fit into the factory keyless entry fob. You could remove the key shank from the keyless entry fob and be all modern! Probably doable.
|
i'm a little put off by the need to hold the tag up to the sensor ring to activate the system. isn't the antenna strong enough to pick up the fob if it's in your pocket or somewhere in the central console?

According to the company, that unit can only sense the tags from 1 to 2 inches away.
Still a cool set-up, but agreed that sux. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...82919bf60c.png |

You really wouldn’t want to. Then anyone could jump in and start your rover. Plus it doesn’t work like that. Touch it to the sensor and it activates it. Touch it again and it deactivated it. Once the cars on the sensor is deactivated. So you can’t accidentally turn off the car.

I wish it would be strong enough to work by just getting in the car. But at the least it is a cheap way to fix a messed up key.

Cool thread! |
Some of the European cars over here have the immobilizer RFID tag units built into their cars security/ignition system.
From what I've been told by mechanics is the European cars have RFID immobilizers while the NAS cars have steering column locks. |
