what he said, the scotch lock cuts into the wire to make the connection, and is not sealed. Buy a pair of good electrical crimpers, not just smashed flat with back side of side cutters, etc. Living near the ocean, we have to put dielectric grease on everything, light bulbs, cable connections, hot dogs, fries, etc.

Hooked up the trailer brake controller and the 7 pin connector for the lights on Sat. Long job but things went pretty well.
Hardest job was fishing the wire from the back to the front for the brakes.
In the end I just cut the original plug off the harness and soldered everything up.
Now just need time to go camping.
