Default Quick power steering consult

Hi Guys, Here I am again seeking your experience to get out of another Disco bind.

2003 Disco, 95,000 miles and PSA pump has been whining for a while. It finally died. The hoses looked good and it was soaked with fluid under the pump so I was pretty sure I needed a new one. I looked at the RAVE and it looked doable for me, but I am a newbie mechanic and have newborn twins, so the wife insisted I take it to the indy garage. The mechanic said the pump was definitely bad.

I provided them a NAPA remanufactured PSA pump ($220) after core and sure enough it leaked almost immediately! Now, I'm out the cost of the repair as well.

My quick questions.

1. Is there a chance it is anything else, or would it seem to be a bad NAPA pump? When I reach under the pulley the bottom is just soaked. I read a bit about o-ring placement, but does not seem like a lot can go wrong. Had my wife crank the wheel back and I see nothing spurting from hoses.

2. Do I ditch NAPA and go new?

Miami British has random makes, new for $300

Atlantic British is highest with random makes at $399 for new.

British Parts Utah Claims to have OEM for $325.

Thanks as always.

Jeffery, PM me your number and I'll call you before your wife kills you.
Never buy a rebuilt p/s pump.

I re-sealed mine with a kit fron Go-tek (I think that was the manufacturer)
that cost something like 30 bucks. The problem with mine was the seal between the two halves. It's been a year and a half now and all is fine.
