Radio Code Question
After having some electrical work done by a local shop, radio didn't work, just says code.
Called the LR dealer and they supplied us with code #, but it doesn't work.
Any ideas, hints on how to properly enter the code?
Any other ways to get it working.
The local shop thinks it's a bad radio, yet it worked fine bf they got their hands on it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: Radio Code Question
There are two ways for the dealer to look up the radio code. One is via the VIN#, and the other is via the serial # from the back of the stereo. Sometimes the code returned via the VIN# does not work. You'll have to remove the radio and write down the serial number on the rear. That should definitely work....

RE: Radio Code Question
On a D1, if you enter the wrong code 3 times, it locks. You have to leave the key turned on, with the radio on for one full hour. Try the code after that. If it still won't work, you may have to get the code from the s/n on the radio.

RE: Radio Code Question
the radio code is just entered straight in. The code they gave you was probably a 4 digit code like (2212) was the one they game me. It is wrong. Mine took a 5 digit code. It is supposed the be the last 5 numbers on the sticker in the glove box. If that is missing or does not work, you need to borrow a set of keys (flat metal thin long strips) that fit in each side of the lower portion of the radio. They have them at the stereo shop. This will allow you to pull the radio out. In my case, the code was written on top of the radio. If you still have no luck, you will need to call land rover with the vin# and any numbers off the radio. They may also require you to fax proof of ownership of the vehichle. Then they will contact the tech department and you will wait....................
Just went through this. Good luck!
If all else fails, someone in town may have a code reader
