re-covering headliner
i know some of you have done this to your trucks, what i need to know is how much material will i need? width and length... thanks
a lot. lol.
stockinteriors.com has a DIY kit, their biggest size should fit. Only problem is it looks like their beige won't match so I'm gonna go with black. |
oh i'm not trying to look stock at all... i got a little something special in mind, i just need to know the dimensions required to know if it will work or not...
Well if it helps at all the kit I mentioned was 3.5 yards by 60".
edit-and post pics when you're done ;) |
yeah the width is what i am worried about... i will just pull a tape on it when i get off work and see whats what...
It needs to be 60" or more.
one more question... does it need to be a material that stretches or one that does not?
I'm doing mine this weekend, something special too. There is a place on ebay that sells the material for Discovery's. They said it had to be 65" wide. I measured mine and I came up with 60" (D2). They also said that could not be over 1/8" thick (I think), because of sunroofs (if you have them). I have two, but don't see where the thickness would make a difference, as the aperature is seperate and seems to have plenty of room for a thicker headliner. Will let you all know how it goes.
cool yeah post up what happens with yours... i have no sunroofs in my D1 so thats a little easier on me...
I have no sun roofs. i removed my headliner board, cleaned the old glue off and im painting the board black. No more sagging fabric! I'll post pics when i'm done.
