Default Rear drive shaft conversion

I destroyed the new rotoflex wheeling at Hidden Falls, i dont think i want another rotoflex so the ujoint conversion is next then.

Do i buy a conversion kit from L8 wheel it then upgrade the shaft or buy the upgraded shaft from the get go and not worry about it.

So this kit
Lucky8 Llc. - Take the road less traveled...

or

The conversion flange
Lucky8 Llc. - Take the road less traveled...

and

Tom Woods rear two joint drive shaft
Lucky8 Llc. - Take the road less traveled...

thoughts?

I have a double cardon rear shaft currently and it's really more of a pain than it probably helps...

Would the regular single work better? what issues do you have?

No issues, just having to drop it to grease it instead of being able to service while still on the truck

Am I missing something? Why can't you grease the rear drive shaft on the truck?

I installed the L8 on mine recently. I do have some vibration at higher speeds but not 100% sure if do to the lack of a rotoflex or because I also removed the weight on the differential. Mine was a pain in the *** to remove. If I was to do it all over again I would just purchase a used front diff and slap it on the rear. Granted you have to pull the rear axles to do this, but in my experience it was much easier then removing the parts for the flange. I have a post on here somewhere showing the carnage.

I know this is an old thread. i have 2001 D2 with stock rear shaft with 118k miles.

I need to replace the the Ujoint. I am thinking about the conversion kit. I have no vibration or anything just need to the preventive maintenance

I read many places that Rotoflex prevents vibration and the pain to replace the Flange.

I am not totally sold on conversion as that introduce another Ujoint to deal with. anyone had issues after conversion?

Thank you for your help

That weight was out there specifically for vibration dampening, it shouldn't be removed.

My personal experience was that there was no change in vibration after converting to universal joint. I agree that just swapping in a front diff is sometimes an easier option. That's what I intend to on my next one because I have a spare front diff.
