Default 245/75R16 tires on stock wheels

I have a 2001 disco with stock tires and stock ride (no lift) The tires on it are 255/65R16, they are good road tires but I want something more aggressive and dirt friendly. A friend told me about tread wrights (they are re-tread tires) My friend bought some and loves them. I can get some aggressive mud tires for $108 each and the size is 245/75R16. Will I have any issues putting these tires on a stock ride? The other option they have is 285/75R16 but that is even further away from stock. So I'm looking at a little more narrow tire and a bit taller (29.05" diameter vs 30.46" on the 245s). I know the speedo will be off by about 4 mph, what other issues will I have? Will they rub? The disco is for playing in the hills and running around town some.
Any feed back would be most appreciated, thanks.

You should be just fine, I was running 265/70/16 on stock suspension with no problems at all, not even close to rubbing.

Also, looking at treadwright's website it seems that all of their 245/75R16 tires support up to an 8" wide rim, so you should be fine there too.

I had 245/75/16 on stock suspension, and the only issue I had was a slight rub on the bottom of the wheel well plastic liner on the front side of the front wheel wells just behind the front bumper when I turned. All 245/75/16s are not the same size, so that may to may not be an issue with your particular tire, but very minor rubbing in any case.
