Rockers and Push Rods?? Removal help?

Got the engine all they way down to the block and heads.. It say mark the rockers in relation to the original piston?? WTF?? lol.. Anyways, how and where do I mark the rocker before removal and do I need to if I do not plan to break them down? I know to keep the push rods in their original order but unsure about how and why I wanna mark the rocker? I would figure it would just unbolt and bolt back down the same way??

just make sure that you keep each rockershaft assy with the head it came off of, that's about it unless you intend to take the rockers apart.

On your work bench lay the lifters out in the same order they came out of the engine in.
Each cylinder has 2 lifters, so the front lift for cylinder #1 is going to be laid out first, then the second one.
Then repeat for cylinder #2.
Put them back in the exact same spot or you will have trouble.
They have all worn differently and if they are put back wrong the whole world will explode.

When I did my head gaskets I kept the push rods in the correct order but I never knew to keep them in the correct orientation (first engine job ever). So I'm sure some went in upside down. Hope I don't get sucked into a worm hole now. The engine is as quiet as it has ever been, guess I was lucky.

The rockers are easy just mark them left and right unless you are rebuilding them.
