RoverTym Vs Old Man Emu

I'm hoping to get a 3 to 4 inch lift for my Discovery. What are some of the goods and bads that you guys have run into while using these two lift kits?

i dont think Emus go any bigger than a 2" lift, so unless you plan on lifting the body as well, it looks like you might want to go with RoverTym.

never seen those before. although, i dont think its a great idea to have that high of a spring rate on a normaly laden vehicle. i could be wrong.

btw, Discos are body on frame, not unibody.

That site with the springs is for OME springs, Read the chart, They are prolly the best way to lift your rover, and OME knows what they are doing. RT is ok but i would go with and i am going with OME springs, 3" lift also needs 1" spacers in front. Those springs are taller than stock, The reason there are heavy spring rates is for people that still want thelift with a full load, IE: non stock bumpers, winch, gear, extra people. Springs is about the only way to lift and OME springs are the most commonaly used on rovers.

i'm thinking about getting the 2" old man emu from this site but what is the difference between the "heavy duty" and the "heavy duty, LTR shock" other than the obvious price differences i mean. is it worth the extra money if i'm only doing some light off road driving? or perhaps is there a better place to get this lift kit? i've looked around some but i still haven't found the info i'm looking for on this. any help would be greatly appreciated.

LTR's are for D1's only do to the location of their front shocks. D2's have their shocks mounted inside the coils and can't use the LTR's.
Do you have a D1 or 2, makes a difference when picking coils and desired heights?
Mike
