Rubber plugs by oil pan + Trans temp light

Hello,
I was trying to change my transmission fluid the other day and I noticed two big rubber plugs at the end of the oil pan. They are on the side and look like they provide access to the transmission. I've noticed mine are cracked and really falling apart but I can't seem to find the part on any website.
The reason I was changing my fluid is because A) I've never done it. B )I'm having an overheat light come on just when I place the key in the ignition and haven't drove it for 3 days. I'm looking at the rave for the temp sensors... Anyone ever replaced the sensors? Oh and my fill plug is rounded off (the interior square is rounded out) but I found a transmission shop to change the fluid for $60. I just don't want to screw it up driving there!

The rubber plugs are inspection ports for the flywheel. Does it keep throwing the light, or has it just been the one time?

Part number for the plugs are ERR7229 and you need 2 of them.

There are two sensors, one for transmission, and one for transfer box. Either one can make that light come on. Or a skinned wire. Page 93 of 126 in the early circuits manual. To see locations, look up connector in electrical library.

It keeps throwing the light. It throws it at random though. I mean it can't be actually over heating when I haven't drove it in a week and I just put the key in the ignition!

Thank you for explaining the fact that it could be the transfer case and not the transmission!

Yeah the old ones do not go back in very easy as most have had oil dripping on them and they have expanded to the point they are almost popping out. The new ones should be much easier to install then an old used one.
