Seafoam

I added a bottle to the oil for a couple days when I first got the truck. Don't wanna run it too long. Then just run a quality oil like the Rotella most everyone uses to keep your engine gunk free.
I also use a bottle in the gas every few months. I dunno if it actually does much, but its cheap insurance.

I never paid seafoam much attention, until...
My wife's LR3 had a cylinder 8 misfire with a SES light. After switching coil and plug for diagnostics I narrowed it to the injector.
Ran 2 bottles of seafoam, half a bottle per tank and the misfires and code went away. I didn't even clear the code.

You don't hear many success stories about Seafoam. It's seems, on this forum anyway, that Seafoam causes more problems than it solves. Killing O2 sensors ( there are four of them @ $65 a pop minimum), throwing codes etc. I wouldn't put it in my motor.

Ok. Keep dumping that snake oil in your motor and get back to us. Another tip, when you pay $45 for O2's go ahead and get 4. You'll need them.

There's no reason to get hostile. I was trying to give you the opportunity to present some kind of information other than second hand rumors.
That said, its never caused me any issues and I will continue to use it unless I'm given some kind of actual data instead of snarky remarks.

Here is my data:
At my parts store you can find Seafoam on the sucker isle right next to "Marvel Mystery Oil".
To the OP: pass on the Seafoam. Use a high detergent oil and change at regular intervals
