Seafoam and other snake oils

So what do you guys REALLY think of this stuff? I have done it to every vehicle I have ever had basically for the fun and for the tradition.

But thinking back, when I removed my heads which had probably a combination of 2-3 cans of seafoam via. Crankcase, fuel, and induction. If seafoam did anything id be surprised because my engine was so gummed up it was horrible. Basically, I have never actually seen or heard anything actually change or improve. So I'm thinking of just keeping my 10$.

Yes I did it right.

In my honest opinion, save your money.
It is great at making smoke, but so is WD-40, or ATF, or 2-cycle oil.
If you really wanted to see if it works take a carboned up spark plug and soak it in Seafoam and see if it dissolves the carbon.

There are more containers of "mechanic in a jar" on the shelves of the parts store than mechanics that come in the door. There are so many "wonder formulas" and products to "fix" everything. And probably all of them do some good for a very small range of issues when the moon is in the correct phase and Murphy's Law hasn't caught up with you yet. The ad people "add" capabilities to the additives until we are very close to a cure for "chassis cancer" and by applyng this goop your tires will re-grow tread, etc.

But I love 'em, just like a lottery ticket.
