Seeking FL Indie Mechanic Recommendation

Good Day Everyone!

I am looking for a recommendation for an Indie Mechanic in the Gainesville Florida area. I have a 2000 Disco II. I have had some awkward experiences with past mechanics and I think its time to move my truck on to a new shop. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks in Advance!

Thank you Dusty!

I don't think any of these people really work on Land Rovers. I am familiar with many of these shops through our other cars or friends and family cars. Two of them told me they could not work on my truck because they didn't have either the equipment or the knowledge.... this was after my regular "go-to" guy asked why I had to go and buy a Land Rover because it was one of the few vehicle he could not work on. I've been looking for a good shop ever since.

Thank you for taking the time to send me that link! It helped me with my daughters car!

well good luck in your search. I have no experience with indy land rover techs, but did use that link to find a jag place for the wife's ride. I have seen some florida folks on the forum, maybe they will chime in if they have any ideas. also you might want to see what you can find out about these guys www.bestmotorworks.com/

EASY! Mickey at Best Motor Works... He specializes in BMW & LR. Plus, he's an enthusiast.

Gainesville, Florida BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover & Mini Cooper Repair

His labor rate is pretty cheap. Tell him I sent you, I know him fairly well.

Google british4x4. it's in jax but it's one of the best shops in the country.

I know the guys at British 4x4 well, and they are good, but Jax isn't exactly close to Gainesville... Mickey is also quite good, and his labor rate is about $20 per hour less!

Thanks for the recommendations! I think I will give Mickey a try definitely. My daughter just got herself a used BMW so it is a perfect opportunity to catch a new shop. Right now my baby is running great but I will tell Mickey you sent me when I go....and he knows you as Disco Fever??? :)

No, he'd know me as Bryce from St. Augustine- the guy with the BMWs and the Rover... LOL

HA! Will do! I may be seeing him sooner than I would like.... I drive a Rover that loves the shop! Thanks Bryce!
