Shell rotella at walmart
Dino 15w40 I think it was just under $13 for the gallon... Great price. Home depot was the next cheapest at about $18, and usually $19 or $20 at auto parts stores. I checked the price near San Francisco while traveling. I think synthetic was about the same price at walmart

Costco and Sam's periodically run specials on that stuff as well.
Got it for $14/gallon at the big C about 2 weeks ago. Also, if you're in the country, TSC and Northern sometimes have 5 gallon buckets of it for cheap. IMHO, Mobil1 delvac is just as good, and usually $1-2 cheaper/gallon. |
My Wal-Mart sells the Rotella 5w-40 for $22, 15w-40 for $12.
My Costco only sells Delvac 15w-40, 3 gal for like $36 but I cant run the 15w-40 in the winter. |
I just bought 2 gallon jugs of T6 for $22 and change apiece. Also bought a PL 30001 filter for about $3 at wal-mart. The 15w40 was on sale but also cant use it in winter. Syn Delvac 5W40 was a buck fifty cheaper than the T6.

Put that stuff in and you are all set.
Put in thin synthetic voodoo oil like Mobil 1 and watch your engine toast itself. Mobil 1 comes out BLACK after 3,000 miles in our D1. I quit using it. I only use the stuff you guys use now.. Rotella and the thick thick mineral based oils. No voodoo synthetic. |
I got sold on Rotella when I drove cement truck, we used it in EVERYTHING including the hydraulics on the trucks and the automatic and manual transmissions.
NEVER changed it in the transmissions or hydraulics and only changed the engine oil once a year. Never changed the gear oil either, 85w-140 Union 76. Same with the transfer cases, Borg Warner t-case, clunked like a Rover, been clunking like that for 30+years they told me. |
