Default shock absorber bushings

Been a while. So busy playing music and being broke, but finally got a raise! Back to Rover stuff...

I just need to know how to inspect/ test for shot shock bushings.

Where they're located front and rear, how to replace, and where to buy.

Still have clunking noise definitely in rear and front is doing this weird squeaking like i can hear the springs moving.

Already replaced watts/ sway bar bushings and links front and back.
New ball joints/ tie rod ends.

Thank you! Glad to be back~

shock bushings arent gonna be serviceable, but you can definitely check for signs of failure.

They are the rubber isolators/donuts inside the "eyelet" of the shock, top and bottom for the rear, and in the front, there is an "eyelet" up top, you'll have to look at it from the engine bay side of things. The bottom should be pretty obvious, it is the bushing that holds the flat 2-bolt mounting bar for the bottom of the shock

You can test it visually by having someone hold the roof gutter and push the truck up and down. If the bushing is gone you can hear and see the bolt hitting the inner part of the shock mount where the rubber was. You can get replacement bushings at Lucky8. Maybe $6.00

I had the weird clunking on the right rear side... I noticed it mostly when going over speed bumps in parking lots, on the down side of the bump it sounded like the shock slammed the rear end down to the ground, if that makes sense... It went away when I replaced the OME Nitrochargers with Terrafirma shocks.

Thanks for the info, so if I have failure then I need completely new shocks?

this is exactly how I feel my clunk, over bumps and whatnot, slow speeds.

so none of my bushings are out. I did tighten my watts a little further on recommendation they were too loose. The clunking is better but not completely gone. I believe I still have a little play in my cetner bolt/ bushing of the watts- how annoying this has been.
