Side marker missing after car wash?
 

My wife went though the cheapo gas station car wash and when she pulled into the garage I noticed right away that the drivers side marker lamp (the tiny one on the fender) was gone!

I pulled the inner well out and found the harness with bulb just floating around in the fender. How can I stop this from happening again? I just paid $30 for a piece of orange plastic and would like to avoid future purchases.

Stop washing the truck.


Pull the marker out of the fender, wrap electrical tape around the base of it, shove it back into the fender, the tape will make a tight fit.

I seriously can't believe how hard car washes are on vehicles these days. They ruin the finish and give you a few dings and dents every time you go through one. Which is the main reason I wash my cars myself. There is only ONE I will take any of my cars through, and it is a full service locally owned car wash. It isn't cheap either...

I want to wash it by hand, but it has not been above freezing for like a month now. Normally I do.

I always take mine to the full service car wash, it's $20 and they do the interior too.
I have never had a problem, but then again I only wash my cars twice a year, spring and fall.

Yes, wash by hand.... a friend of mine took here car through one, and it looks like the front rocker panel got whipped by a cable. totally destroyed the plastic on the front bumper...
