Snow driving issues and TC disable
 

First off, Happy New Year Disco folks!
We had two snows this past week which I was out driving in, and got to remembering that I really don't like many of the characteristics of the truck in the snow, and I'm thinking many of them can be cured with being able to disable the TC like you can in most other vehicles.
The truck is a beast in the snow, and can pull itself out of anything. That is great. I'm not thrilled out turning or braking though. Now the braking, obviously has nothing to do with TC but the turning does. The truck likes to plow straight when throttle is applied while cornering like a fwd does. I'm thinking that without a stability program, that this was engineered as most the the driving public would not want the tail to hang out or end up doing a rwd style 180 in the snow. The issue is that I do want that! Like many of you, I know how to drive in the snow, and have even participated in winter driving events, snow-cross events, etc. In my other two cars, they are more evenly balanced and don't over or under steer, but if you do want to control it a bit more, just turn off the TC/ESP and have at it.
So, I would love to be able to install a kill for the TC just to be used certain times. 90% of the time in the snow it would be left on. A good example is this side road I pullout of onto a main road. You are stopped on a steep hill, so especially when slick you need to throttle it hard to pull out. The issue is, it wants to plow straight forward into the wrong lane if turning one way, and the curb if going the other way. Let the lighter tail hang out a touch and I'd be happy. I also tagged a curb pulling out from another spot.
So, a couple questions:
1. Can I put in a kill switch for the TC?
2. Cani kill the TC without killing the ABS? I would not want to kill the ABS as I tried it once without ABS in the snow, and she locks up way too easy with the weight.
Truck info: 00 with no cdl, on/off road tires with plenty of meat and new brakes all around.

ATC and ABS are one in the same (both controlled by ABS modulation) so I'm pretty sure if you kill one, you kill both, as well as HDC.

What tires are you running?
T/C is great in the snow with the proper tires and not a set of Good Year Wrangler type street tires.
Yes, you could disable the T/C but it will lill the ABS also.
Why haven't you engaged your CDL, makes a huge difference in the snow?

That would be OK if it were easy to turn it on and off quickly like other cars then. Hit it off for pulling out, or if in deep somewhere where spinning the wheels will help out rather that TC limiting it, but able to put it back on before you need to use the brakes.

I'm running the Yoko Geolander AT/S. Good mix of on road performance and off too. Not the best, but a solid performer for the money. They are ranked 9 out of 19 in the category, and have the same snow ratings. They placed high in a couple Indy tests too. Consumer Survey Results By Category
I do think the TC does a good job, it is just a few of the times when she pushes way too much into corners when on the throttle. She tracks nice while turning and braking, so I know the tires and abs are doing their jobs.
I would love to install a cdl lever on the truck, but never had that much of a use to go through the money and effort. I do carry a 10mm wrench just in case though.

My tc and abs has never given me any problems in the snow!

My street has a big sheet of ice in it right now. My TC worked in front of my house today. I'm glad it did.

Sure works well here in Denver when we have snow. I think part of the problem may be you lack of driving experience, with a Disco, on snow and ice, just a thought.
