Sounds like a chicken clucking, coming from under the front
 

I can only hear it at low speeds, a sound like a chicken when it's strutting around the farmyard... Cluck... Cluck cluck..... Cluck. Only when the car is cold, it seems to go away after a while.

Seems to be coming from under the front of the car..... Could it be the front driveshaft? It's an 04 with 75k miles.

Remove the prop shaft lock your center diff and go for a drive. That;s the only way to diagnosis it. Process of elimination.

Do you see grease fittings on the u-joints? This will tell you if it's been serviced or replaced.

No there are no fittings on the shaft, pretty sure it's original to the car.

I find it surprising that you've posted here 71 times but you haven't yet read about replacing the drive shaft. It literally comes up every day.

Yes, I'd start with the drive shaft as being a serious front runner for solving this issue. If you're going to take it off and engage the CDL to test, you might as well rebuild it or install an aftermarket one. Gonna need it regardless.

I have read about the driveshaft, that's why I asked if it sounds like that.

could (and prolly is) your shaft. but if you can hear it at idle (slightly raise rpms) choke that chicken ....................spray some wd40 (or the likes) on your pulleys, 1 by 1, till you find it. the lube will briefly silence the cluck, if that is the egg.

If the chicken lays golden eggs leave it alone.
At $1,200 an ounce you can then buy a new rover.

Don't drive it like this.
Could be the front drive shaft.
If that drops, your trouble will be a lot worse.
