Default Spark Plug Wire Options - 9.2mm?

So I just got lucky disco #4, an '01 with 74.4K on the dash, and a P0307 misfire code.

I'm looking around for spark plug wires, and I am wondering if anyone can render opinions on the following:

Summit Racing sells some REALLY nice ford and MSD wiring sets for small block v-8's that are silicone, and 9.2mm wire. Pretty, shiny, go-fast-stuff. Me likey..

They're also about $45/set, and a few of my idiot hot-rod buddies swear by them. These guys build some CRAZY fast engines.

So, apart from not fitting in the loom (fixable with in 5 minutes with a milling machine), if the wire lengths are correct, why the hell would I pay $150 (with shipping) for some euro-brand wire? I'm totally open to arguments, and expect them, but correct me if I'm wrong, wire is wire and silicone is silicone?

Anyone? I'd rather spend the money on other stuff, this truck needs some lovin'...

Whoa - Nice! Have people used these with success, or will they cause the flux capacitor to overload, sending us back into time?

$100+ difference has to come from somewhere....

I've had Kingsbournes for over a year, zero issues. This wire is more than sufficient for our stock ignition systems.

Are those $150 wires made with precious metals?

I just had an STI wire separate in the boot at the plug end causing a misfire (obviously).
