Sticky Locks?
 

I did a search and found a couple threads where people mentioned this.....

When I hit the lock button on the remote, the driver's door lock doesn't always go down. The back passenger lock is doing it too, but it also doesn't always UNlock. But not always at the same time. Yesterday, I unlocked using the remote, and the cargo door wouldn't unlock. I had to fold the seats forward and actually CRAWL back there to unlock it using the door handle. Now, I'm small, but it wasn't fun. :p

I read in one post where a couple people said "I oiled mine and it fixed it".
Can someone expand on this? (Spike? I think you mentioned this?)
Is it as simple as some WD40 sprayed down into the lock? Or did you have to take things apart on the door to oil it?

Not sure I'm ready to tackle taking things apart just yet - but she's going into the shop on Friday for some other things and if it's a detailed process, I'm thinking I'll have them look into it. But if it's as simple as spraying a little WD40 down in there, I'll gladly try it. :)

You can remove the door panel and use some very light oil that may help free up you locks. If it doesn't work, new locks, or used are in order.

DO NOT use WD-40, use 3-in-1 oil or Liquid Wrench. (yes there actually is a difference)
You will need a light lubricating oil like the 2 I mentioned, remove the door panel and you will see the lock actuator, lube it and work it by hand a couple of times to work the oil in.
Reinstall the door panel and cross yoru fingers.
I did this to my drivers door last summer and still working fine.
Hell man, you got nothing to lose by trying this.

Thanks to both of you for replying. I'll go pick up some Liquid Wrench and see if this does the trick.

Incidentally, I tried something a little different today, that had curious results. When I hit the lock button on the remote, the driver's door lock actually went down (usually it sticks in the unlocked position), and of course when I hit the unlock button on the remote, it stuck in the locked position. So I had to open it by leaning over the center console from the passenger side. :rolleyes:

Then I tried locking/unlocking with the key - maybe it was a fluke, but all locks seemed to lock/unlock like they should. (Didn't try cargo door, though.)

Any chance this is my remote battery going flat?
(Think I'll change it anyway, just to be safe, as well as try the oil on the acutators.)

No it is not the remote battery, if the battery was weak then the range would be getting shorter and then it just wouldnt work.
When you lock/unlock with the key you are moving the lock actuator by hand, the door lock, key hole and nactuator are all connected by a series of rods.

As spike said, that is a good fix. I didnt have to remove the panel on mine though, i put a few squirts in the small openings between the hammer thing itself and then moved it up and down. But I don't know if what i did could have done damage so i can't confirm its safety, but it fixed it wonderful. My problem was, when you would start the car, it would go down some, then shoot back up and it was annoying. no more now!

But as Spike said, need to stay away from WD-40 as it attracts dirt and gets worse

Spike - I wondered about it being the remote because when I used the key, the back passenger lock that sticks, actually unstuck. Perhaps it was just a fluke, though. And I have noticed that the range on the remote is pretty short - I have to be within 10 feet of the truck or nothing happens. No idea how old the battery in the remote is (only had the truck a week now) so I'm thinking I'll replace it anyhow. But I'll def try oiling the actuators too.
