Ralph, doesn't he need power to try that sequence? I don't think his alarm light is even flashing. Sounds like no power at all, can't even shift to neutral to get the a tow.

LR03NJ, have you looked at all of the fuses in the box under the hood? What happened the last time this happened? Did it just decide to come back to life? You probably have a bad ground somewhere. Battery terminals are good? Alternator connections?

It happened twice before but ater a while it started. This time the engine is cooler and still wont start. Once in a while i see all the dash lights when i turn ignition then dies. Tow truck is on its way and can find a way to shift to neutral. Cant even lock car coz no power to electrics. Plz respond. Thanks

Pull up the plastic housing for the shifter. You'll see on the left hand side the small metal post that connects to the solenoid, you can push that in with your finger to shift to neutral, and shift the transfer case shifter into neutral for your tow:

God Bless you all! I'm home safe and my Disco. Thank you very much. I felt like I was in an Apollo 11 movie. I really dont know what to say. Forgot my reading glasses and had to log in to this forum to ask advice. Well, zooming in to read stuff from an iPhone is not a great experience at all. But getting help almost real time from you guys was really something. I cant even go anywhere since I cant lock the truck and all my photography and video equipment were inside including monitors. The last thing I remember was giving the tow guy the phone to read the final instruction to release the shifter. Not even sure if he did it right. Haha! but we made it.
Anyway, the truck started upon arriving home and still dont know whats wrong. He tried to jump it first. I was reading about the CPS when bad and gets hot, but can the electrical and the power be affected by the CPS? There was no power at all when you turn the key. Well, now I have time to research more about what is causing my truck not to start.
Thanks again for the help. It was amazing!

The post in question is the horizontal tip end in the picture? and it needs to be pushed in to allow the shifter to shift to neutral? Am I correct? I will have to add this to my smartphone notes.

CKP sensor won't cause the power failure. You will be looking at battery terminals, the places where the black battery cable ties to metal chassis and frame of truck, and the bolt in fuses in the underhood box.
