Sunroof opening on its own....

not every time, but most of the time, when i start my disco 2, the rear sunroof will either pop open a little bit, or open all the way. I can see this being an annoying problem, especially when it might be raining or snowing. Any ideas as to what this might be caused by. Im leaning towards the ECU. thanks!

The sunroof has a separate controller, its not controlled by the ECU. It's under the headliner where the buttons are. Could be a sticking button or a short in the button also. Try removing the button and see if it still does it, or switch the button with the other and see if the front does the same. If the rear still opens them id drop the headliner and check the wiring. If everything looks fine then I'd grab another sunroof controller (the little white box) and see if that fixes it.

Oh, before you replace it, could your front sunroof be leaking? Its possible that water could be running down and getting in the buttons or controller also. Either way, if you pull the headliner then I would clean out all the sunroof drain tubes.

It sounds like you have the rear ejection seats primed before you start the car.Make sure the safety flags are pulled out all the way. Also on your dash is that one button with no markings DO NOT PUSH THAT BUTTON.
Just a little military humor on memorial day.
X2 on the bad switch.

Yeah x2 on checking for a leaky front sunroof, and replacing the sunroof ECU. You can find them online 94-04 D1/D2 for around 20.00.
