Suspension
When it comes to really good shocks, which ones do you all seem are the best??
also...for the suspension, when you change the shocks, is that the only thing you need to change?? anndd... can you go anywhere to get them changed out? Thanks a whole bunch! :D John-Robert btw... there are almost 44,000 miles on her.. :) |

As for the shocks, you can use the Old Man Emu or Bilsteins, both are great shocks. You should at your mileage, change out the steering stabilizer and if it were mine, with your mileage and depending on what you are using the truck for, I would change out the springs also cause they are starting to get weak as you get closer to the 50,000 mile range. By the way, I run OME HD schock and front springs with my SLS and ACE, had them 5 years and still working well. Mike |
RE: Suspension
Thank you Mike!
I really really appreciate your thoughts! Where can I get them installed? And for the HD ones, how's the ride? Like I said before, I don't really use my truck for hardcore offroading... just the occational mud and bump.. I would like a tight first ride as well. Thanks!! John-Robert |
RE: Suspension
The HD scocks give a nice controlled ride, nothing harsh.
Do you have a mechanical friend that could help you install the shocks in your drive way? Mike |
RE: Suspension
Well, I'm only 20 yrs. old, with NO experience mechanically, and well, I've got a couple friends who are major off-roaders who I think know how to do this...
Where can I buy these shocks and springs? Thank you Mike :) |
RE: Suspension
UPDATE:
I called over to Atlantic British and the guy that picked up said that I still have another 30,000 miles of so on the springs, and that for the shocks, I still have alot of life left.. So..what do I do? They really arn't that expensive... he told me that they were $79.00 a shock?? |
