Default Terrafirma Steering Rod Question?? Help!

I've got Terrafirma steering rod and drag link on my (new to me) 99 disco II. Started to notice some steering wheel wobbles between 50 - 60 mph. It looks like the tie-rods on the steering rod are bad (I can twist the rod about and inch or so). PO may not have greased them properly. Any chance those are replaceable or am I looking at a whole new rod?

They should be replaceable just like any other ball joint.

OK so I had them on my rig and needed to replace the ends.
I remember hearing over the years that Terrafirma made production changes from DI rod ends to DII rod ends and the set advertised today looks different from mine?
Contacted the company I bought them from and told them I had the early version with the welded on steering stabilizer bracket.
They wanted me to take out a rod end and measure the thread diameter and pitch.

I just bought stock replacements.

I'm not really any help I just wanted you to know I think there are different versions.

They're replaceable, they should be D1/D90/RRC style ends. RTC5869/RTC5870

what year did they make the switch? The PO put this on back in 2013. I am assuming that was after the switch.

They were definitely using the numbers I gave you in 2013, I don't believe they have ever switched.

So as long as the tie rods fit say... a '97 Disco 1.... I should be good? I am trying to order these off of rock auto.

I hope the part numbers took you to a decent brand of tie rod on RA.

By far the BEST PRICE on a PROPER set of quality Lemforder Tie Rods is from Lucky8!
