Terrafirma TF835 RTC steering damper...
Does anyone have one of these on?
|
As a D1, RRC, or Defender guy and you'll have better responses :)
STEERING DAMPER RETURN TO CENTER DEFENDER., TF835 - Land Rover Parts | Rovers North |
Thanks Z was already on the site looking at this deal as well as the damper.
ALLOY WHEEL 7X16 DSCOVERY II, ANTHRACITE, TERRAFIRMA RVS, TF107 - Land Rover Parts | Rovers North |
I was only linking so you'd check out what it fits, it's a Defender RTC steering damper. I wanted it too, but the DII steering damper is female-female, the Defender is female-male. Those are the wheels I want, I think I'll still get them at some point. Need to get more in, I think RN is low on stock of them.

Z its cool I was on RN looking at the damper, I wonder if TF will just sell the spring and kit to attach it to my TF damper. I like the black TF rims but the price RN has on anthracite is really good and yes they have one in stock...Im looking at 5 rims. Does RN give a military discount? I never asked Justin that one, I just thought of it. I also wonder if I buy the TF835 and just add the spring and hardware to my current TF damper if that will bolt up. Im sure it is the same damper...I will find out and post my findings...

I'm not sure about the discount, I'll ask tomorrow but I haven't heard of it. I'll check to see if the spring will work on the TF802 tomorrow. I'll also talk to the guy at Terrafirma about the possibility of a DII RTC kit.
Also, if you get the TF anthracite wheels you can just plasti dip them black! |
I have one... made no difference in feel, didn't come with instructions, torque settings, and one of the u clamps it came with was only threaded on one side. Looks pretty though I guess?

I believe you will find OME still makes the strongest, longest lasting steering dampner on the market.

5 Attachment(s)
Hey AG, I shot some photos for you today. What I've found is that the thickness of the TF802 is too large to fit the spring over. As you can see both fitting points are quite different. Here are the photos:
