Time to replace the Headliner

Time to replace the headliner, what is a reasonable cost to have a shop perform the work? I'm getting a $500 quote.

Thanks!

I take it you dont want to do it yourself. There is a good write up on the headliner issue. I did away with the fabric and used the spray on bedliner. No more worries.

With that said, I am unable to answer your actual question. Thanks for reading my post though. LOL

I agree take it out and paint it

Who gave you that quote? did you try Bob's or Atlas auto top in Quincy. Discoverys are rather expensive because you have to use a wider material than normally because of the alpine windows in the roof.

had a high school shop redo the liner on my disco for a couple of pizzas. I took the liner out scraped all the glue off, they installed the new fabric and I put it back in myself. It looks as good as factory....

It's a lot of labor time to remove (if you do it properly). That might account for the $500 quote. You should ask again what is costs if you just bring the fiberglass liner shell, cleaned and ready to cover. My guess is around $200. I bought my headliner felt online and did it myself (around $100, I think?), but couldn't do as good of a job as a pro (but still pretty happy with the results).

If you want help, I am not far from you. I have to take mine out too- and the paint option seems like a good one.

Many thanks for the offer and I'd love to take you up on it but I'm in Denver for the winter so its kind of a long drive! If I was at home I would definitely be doing this myself but I do not have any space or tools to do the job here hence the shop quote. Again thanks.
