Tips on upgrading sound system?

I've looked at those Rockford amps before. I almost bought one to power my 12" in my Disco but ended up with a different model Hifonix instead. The Brutus maybe? Dunno. From what I've heard those Rockfords are solid. I don't think you'll go wrong with it. It'll overpower those subs a little bit, but that's fine as long as you're not listening to stuff fully cranked very often. I'd say cut the gain down on the amp some and it will just give you some good head room. Good choice for the sub amp for sure.

I could somewhat easily trim the inside lip 0.1" all around to get the speaker to fit, but the problem is that the screw holes for the speaker extend past the outside lip a tad, so I'd have to get really creative there to mount them.
The real problem is that I can't find anyone else who makes 8" clamp mount style speaker pod enclosures.
And of course Rockville support is closed today.

Yep nothing else out there on the market for true 8" speakers. this complicates things a bit as usual.
I've found that 8" pvc pipe has perfect dimensions, but that stuff is not cheap either. Looking to be my only option. And while I'd love to return these pods... the clamp would be very useful to have for the pvc. Question is if the clamp is worth $130. DIY'ing the clamp would be tricky.

That's insane! I can't believe it won't fit.
As for the clamp, what about something like these? Or something similar. Would save you a lot of money instead of keeping the pod.

Oh, man, here's your ticket. Even better!

And then get a box, maybe like this one, and mount it upside down using those clamps. ^

Damn PVC pipe is expensive... I'm looking at around $100 for a measly 2 feet. Plus $35 for end caps, EACH. Could hack a plug on the cheap, but time is money...
Good find on the clamps, I think they could work. I might as well call this company on monday to see if they'll take back just the pods for a steep discount. The clamp is very sexy and combines both speakers into a single mount

I think I'll pull the trigger on the PVC pipe. The price seems crazy, but it should work just perfectly, and is my only viable option
