Tire change
 

does anyone know where the jack would be found on a 1997 Discovery? Also, How do u take the wheel off? I'm having an issue with the little "covers" on the lug nuts. I just recently purchased the Rover, but to my surprise. . . no jack. . . .please help.

the jack is between the air box and headlight. the handle for it is under the passenger seats.

The covers are part of the lug nuts and are not to be removed. If yours are loose and the standard lug wrench won't fit them, then they have been damaged by someone using too large of a socket or lug wrench and will need to be replaced at some point.

Make sure and chock a tire when jacking. The parking brake acts on the rear driveshaft, so it is possible to roll if another tire gets high. Also, only jack from the axle. Unless you have to use the frame to replace the springs or something. If you are in a bind and trying to use the lug wrench, tap it on with a hammer. All of my lugs were messed up. I had to do this just to get it on. I had only one cover pop off when I did my brakes. Get ready, they are expensive to replace.
