Default Tires

I have a 1999 Series II w/Ace.

I get "cupping" on the tires after about 20,000 miles on them, and hear that it is a problem unique to the Goodyear tires that are stock for the car.

I am looking for alternatives, suggestions etc. so I don't have this problem in the future.

I am also considering going to a slightly larger tire, and wonder if that will screw up things with the ACE etc.

Goodyears will cup after 20K. It happened on my explorer and the same thing is happening on my 03 Discovery. I have 18" rims and my dealer recommended some Continental off Tire Rack. Good luck.

sense this is a tire thread, hopefully it wont hurt asking another question.

Is it safe to put some 22's on the LR, i mean i know SUV's are known to flip, but i mean all about the looks.

I guess everyone has their own ideas of what looks good. I guess if you try hard enough, you can put any size wheel on the LR. I saw a Ford Explorer Sport with 22s on it and it looked pretty silly. The driver thought it looked nice and that is what matters. If you do it, post some pics!

yeah im seriously thinking about it, but my LR color wont really go with the rims in my opinion. I might as well paint it black, and chrome it out. But before any of my projects start, i am going to get the protection stuff first.

I currently have Pirellis on a 95 disco (these are the 235/70R16). I think that is a bit smaller tire than what you have on the '99, but I have been pretty happy with them.
