tranny fluid swap,,, done right?
so i drained the pan. refilled till it overflowed.
started the truck and shifted through gears a few times. then continued to add fluid. i put in about 6 qts of fluid with the truck running and ran out. as soon as i cut the engine it started to drain back out of the fill hole. so i plugged it.
so i am just making sure i am doing this right because it seems like a lot more is going in then came out. or maybe i am imagining things.
so am i supposed to fill while running till it overflows the fill hole? or is that too much?

ok just checking. i was like "am i just filling this sucker up to the brim or what"
added a pint of the lucas tranny conditioner and 5 and a half qts of fluid.
seems to drive and shift a bit smoother. old stuff was still red but slightly darker then the old stuff and had a tiny bit of a burn scent to it. guess it was just time to swap it.
