There are two sensors in that circuit, one in the transfer case and one in the transmission cooler. You can easily determine which one it is by unplugging the trans temp sensor, if the light goes off that is the problem, if not then it is the transfer case sensor. The connector is located under the radiator fan shroud at the top of the radiator on the passenger side, sensor is located in the bottom of the trans cooler on the passenger side.
