Trouble Code P1590, a little help please
I pulled some codes off my 99 Disco II and came up with P0440(Purge Valve) and also a P1590 code. What is the 1590 pointing to. TIA

I just looked on my list of fault codes, I don't see it listed.
How is your truck running? Mike |

It runs fine, the only thing that doesnt sound good mechanically is coming from the drivers side front wheel well, which I think is my hub?
I just searched Google for that code and found this; P1590 (Idle air control and speed sensor). Would that go along with the 0440 code? |

No, I don't think so, P0440 Evaporative Emission Control System Malfunction
How many miles do you have on your truck, can you better describe the sound you are hearing? Mike |
RE: P1590, tried searching, couldn't find anything. Please Help.
Just under 85,000. Mechanically under the hood all I can hear is lifter noise, which I'm assuming is normal because it's not loud at all(normal engine noise). The only sound that I cannot figure out is the "clunking" sound coming from the drivers wheel well is only when going over bumps of any kind, I was under the assumption that it was the hub, but apparently that is false. TIA

Your clunking noise may be simply the rubber bushes worn out on the front shock absorber. Or it could also be front radius arm bushes or those on the panhard rod.

p1590 code truck idles rough, but drives smooth
So, a couple of weeks ago the coupling under the throttle body crack and leak antifreeze all over, therefore over heated and the engine light came on. I bought a replacement to fix the problem, but now my truck idles rough and I can smell exhaust fumes. I had my engine light code check and P1590 pop up. they keep telling it's a neutral switch. I've seen others post about the ABS light coming on, but I don't have that issue, and the truck brakes fine. Long story short, could anybody give me a possible explanation on this matter?
Thanks, Greg |
A 1590 is a rough road/ABS code indicating your 3 amigos.

Code p1590
Question p1590 would that trigger the service engine soon light? Or would that trigger the ABS ? Because my abs light never has been triggered only The engine light
