two parts questions

Hi Gang !

Can anyone suggest a store when I can go to get a right rear axle seal for my 2003 Disco?
I did the brakes last weekend and the rotor was a bit greasy !

Also, another odd one, has anyone been overly ambitious and tried to find a fix for those
nasty cheap plastic guides that are on the ends of the lift arms for the front power windows?

Both of mine are pooched (so you can’t open the windows) because that plastic guide that
sits in the window tracks have gone brokey in to little tiny bits?

I was thinking of trying to use a washer and maybe a bevel headed (really short) bolt, so am I nuts?
(grin)

Cheers’
Dave

Also check to be sure you axle vent tube and banjo bolt is clear, if clogged the pressure from axle and diff oil evaporation will ooze oil out the seal you speak of.

As for the window regulator roller, I fabbed replacements from square (they just slide) teflon furniture glides at Home Depot. Slid in the tract, snap over the stud of the crumbled roller. Write up posted months ago, sorry no access to search at this moment.

You may have one of two issues, a bad o-ring between the hub and axle housing or a bad hub, which can not be rebuilt and will cost in the upper $360 range.

Thanks !

Thanks everyone for the great advice!!

I got some Teflon glides and we'll stuff them in and see what happens,
I also got my o ring / seal too!

Cheers'
Dave
