Type of brake pads to get?
 

Hey guys im looking at autozone for new brake pads and they have 4 different kinds, I read on the forum that the cheap pads mess up the ABS sensor (previous owner of my 97 disco probally didnt care and put them on) and now i need to replace them. Can anyone tell me which types to get?

I am going to replace my stock pads with Hawk HPS or LTS. I have been extremely pleased with their performance in the BMW's I have had and Hawk pads are the only ones I have ever used on the track.

What I look for most is not just initial bite, but bite after the brakes get hot. I think the Disco stops very well considering it's weight, but it doesn't stop so great 2,3 or 4 times abruptly and the reason I have found is because the pads get too hot. I have used Hawk HPS before and I think they would be a good option for the Disco.

A few people have been using the ceramic pads with good results, good stoppin power and very little dust or noise.

If you go to Autozone, make sure to get ceramic pads. The others are really really dusty.
