Angry Vacuum booster line retainer on plenum Part# Please somebody ?!

I've been digging for the part number to the red vacuum hose retainer clip that is on the passenger side. From the picture, mine has one prong broken off. I have have not been able to locate the part number for it and I have the Land Rover parts book.

Let me see if I still have the one off of my parts truck. If I do then I'll just mail it to you for the price of shipping I'll get back to you this weekend when I'm home unless you find another one first.

I checked AB and RN couldn't locate a part number. If Alex doesn't have one, I might, but I won't know until Friday - my parts truck is sitting in my old man's shop. If I beat Alex I'll just stick it in an envelope and mail to you.

The red ring is not sold separately. It's sold together with the rest of the part that is installed into the plenum.

I broke off the one on my truck six years ago when I couldn't figure out that you press the vac line IN toward the intake and then pull the vac line OUT.

For a year or more I ran my truck with the brake booster vac line sealed with a silicone grommet from Radio Shack that I happened to have lying around that I trimmed to fit. The point is that there are a lot of things that can work to sub for the red ring until you source one elsewhere, like from a parts truck like I did. Remember, there's no pressure pushing the line OUT, you just need to seal against air being pulled IN. Maybe a rubber band? Or some RTV? or even some rubber cement. It matters little. Good luck.

My temporary fix was to wrap the vacuum line with plumbers PTFE thread seal tape. Two rounds made it fit tight. I checked AB, RN and eBay UK which usually comes through for me. I may call Lucky8 and see if he has a source. If you guys have one with 4 good prongs on it PM me and I will send my address.

Be patient. No need to drop $30-$40 or more on the part. What you have in place now will work indefinitely.

several people have simply replaced the LR part with a brass barbbed fitting from HD or lowes

I think this is technically the part, but as others have said, might be better to improvise something or get one from a junkyard given the $36 price: Land Rover Intake Manifold Brake Servo Vacuum - Discovery II

I looked around and couldn't find the one I have anywhere. Sorry about that.

Here you are LZN100220 or LZN100390, both the same part but one is listed for the MG Rover and the other for Mini's. there is no listing of the part for LR's. To fit it you need to remove the plenum to knock out the main body from the inside.

You should be able to find it for around $16, though on one US site I saw it for $104 (day light robbery)
