water on the passenger floor mat?
 

Help, this morning when i looked in the disco I saw some water on the front passenger floor mat. The carpet underneath was also damp. The carpet on the sides seemed to be dry. The glove box was dry. Last night it rained.
I had a new windshield installed a few weeks ago, could this be the problem?

Confused where the leak may be.

I would say that he new windshield is leaking.
You can take it to the automatic car wash and try to find the leak.

Go back to the w/s shop that installed it and get it resealed. In the mean time, start pulling up your carpet and pad to vacuum them out and let dry, or they can get moldy smelling.

it is not your windshield. it is your A/C / defroster unit under the dash. i had the same thing happening to my rig. more then likely what is happening is the drain tubes that allow the unit to drain under the car are clogged up and it is draining into the passenger footwell.

under the truck there are 2 rubber drain nipples on either side of the transmission bell housing (near the back of the engine and front of the tranny)

put on goggles and get under there with a good light. when you locate them it should be as simple as wiping the ends with a rag and watch out because water will POUR out. do that to both sides and A LOT of water should come out. something like a gallon+.

after that just check em when you do your oil changes and that should be it.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to clean the drains, but I'm also going to have the windshield resealed. I haven't run the vehicle in a couple of days to think it was the AC, but worth a clean anyway.

i was not running mine either. its a build up from the heater/defroster etc. over time. if its not draining then its gonna find its way out somewhere.

Cool. Maybe it came from washing the car and the rain last night then.
