Water pump and timing chain replacement?

4 Attachment(s)
I have my front cover off to replace the oil pump. While I am in there, should I replace the water pump and/or the timing chain.

See the attached pictures for the condition of these parts. To my untrained eye, they both look good to me.

The vehicle is a 2004 with 75k miles.

Personally I would. Especially if you don't know the miles on the pump and if you have some slack going on with that chain. If no slack and I knew how much pump life was used up, maybe let it slide

Go ahead and replace them. AB has a kit with all the gaskets and the chain if you haven't already got the replacement gaskets ordered.

I would replace:
* Gears and chain.
* Water pump (w/ brass impellar) and gasket
* Front seal

You've gone this far, you'll kick yourself if the water pump fails or develops a leak later down the road.

Replace them

I assume I should replace the 2 chain wheels along with the timing chain as well?

Yes, you can purchase as a set
