Plus, where and how...
Can affect your mileage some.
After taking my wife's 03 HSE for a ride the other day, I mentioned how much nicer her's rides than mine. Her response..."maybe if you quit driving through the field and mud out back and got rid of the big goofy tires...it might not be so bad".
Who cares about ride anyway...lol

So today I had the luck of my drive shaft breaking on me (again) only this time it really did a number on me. Which brings me to this.
::: ISO transmission for a 2001 Discovery II SE rebuilt or known to be working at time of pull. In a tight spot my baby is my work vehicle, no truck, no living. Thanks in advance. Close to Ocala and able to deliver a HUGE plus. :::
If this isn't the place for this just let me know thanks everyone!

I guess tire size will matter considering MPG but I've had the same tires since buying Myrtle... 255/65R16.
The only other thing I can contribute the great gas mileage (13.37 MPG... yeah, I know!) is the 180 degree thermostat, Hayden 2781 fan clutch and Dorman 620-112 Radiator Fan keeping my temps at 185 to 192 instead of 219 degrees.
Who knows...

My rover likes Shell gas the best, by about a mpg...but there are no Shell stations in route. I'd actually thought I lost mileage with the tire change, but now I believe it was just a bad tank of fuel.
Last three fuel mileage checks...(no highway driving at all, and no roof rack or any other mods besides tires and 2 inch lift).
Marathon mid grade...15.0
Shell mid grade...16.5
BP mid grade...15.5

Buttoned up a few things on the 03, couple plastic shields under radiator, changed transfer case fluid, greased both driveshafts and finally found intermittent vibration/shaking in drivetrain. Been dealing with the vibration from before the engine swap, and had changed out original front drive shaft, no change, changed tires, no change, messed with it for another day or so...and the engine puked. So, today was the day to track this vibration down. Luckily, the issue was no longer intermittent and reared its ugly head with each test drive and had become more violent.. Felt like the parking brake was dragging, as if trying to stop the rover from going down the road, but after jacking it up...I found the right rear tire was locked up. Removed caliper...all better. I'm a hundred precent sure this is the issue, and for once!!!!...an easy fix!!!!
Had check engine light also come on, but it was the same codes I'd been dealing with before engine swap...so, oxygen sensors are needed (look to be original, 131K).
More parts to order.

Neighbor got his Dodge Ram stuck, then his Massey Ferguson tractor stalled and would not restart after entering the swampy yard to retreive the truck...so, he asked me to pull everything out.
Dropped her in low-lock, twisted the double O 7 secret-weapon-**** to the right...backed into to rain soaked yard.
And pull the tractor out, then the Dodge...without spinning a wheel. He was impressed, thought for sure I'd get stuck.
