I keep saying it's gonna go away after every trip off-roading but I never do anything about it...it will probably still be here so long as that truck is. I don't know what I'm doing with everything in the coming year and I'm kind of obsessed with the new to me RRC I picked up. Realistically I'll keep everything and keep going crazy trying to keep up with the maintenance/improve on all 3 haha

replaced my rotoflex and the behind the muffler exhaust hanger. 9 months and the rubber ones I bought from Atlantic British all 3 had completely cracked through. Went with the orange poly ones this time and they seem a lot better. the tailpipe one has been on there for about 2 months with no signs of wear. I just need to do the one in front of the muffle now.
also noticed my valve cover leaking at the rear bolt on the passenger side 1600 miles after my HG replacement. Gonna check to make sure the PO removed the waffle when he did the Fram PVC mod and I bought an inch pound torque wrench to retorque all the valve bolts later this week before a 200 mile trip.

Not sure of the mod you reference but hopefully it mentioned using ATF cooler hose, NOT fuel line. Fuel line is not rated for the temperature and will get soft and split.

Acquired a Chawton white ‘03 that I’ve been pursuing for a while. It was the local Indie shop mechanic’s daily. He’s gotten to be a friend due to Disco ownership, haha.
He bought it from his friend who was a LR dealership service manager. That guy had an Atlantic British Top Hat 4.6 installed. The service manager presumably bought it cheap when a customer traded it in with an engine issue, then installed the Top Hat motor and gave it to his daughter to drive.
Apparently she decided it was “too big” bought another car and parked it. Then the my buddy the mechanic bought it. He’s had it since 2019 and put about 8k miles on it. It’s only got 122,800 miles on it. It’s from Vegas originally, then Texas, then Alabama so absolutely zero rust.
I’ve been hounding him about buying it for a while. I guess I finally offered him the night number and he caved. I figured the most reliable disco you can buy is the one that’s driven every day…
My first project is simply buying a set of tires. It’s got well worn 10 year old General Grabber AT2’s that are dry rotted to hell. Don’t feel good about driving ok then on the interstate.
I’ll do the online thermostat, the Best 4x4 PCV Mod, and fix the three amigos. My buddy who I bought it from gave me a brand new WABCO unit with a shuttle valve. I’ll probably still go Option B, we’ll see.
It needs a front bumper and work on the nudge bar, but other than those things it’s pretty sorted. I vacuumed it out tonight and it needs a good deep cleaning.
Love the white color, and super stoked to have a D2 with the top hat motor. It’s a really solid example, it just needs some love.

Drove Myrtle the farthest I’ve ever driven her. 320 miles in 6 hours north to Scotland for the last leg of night ops for joint USN and RAF military Exercise Cobra Warrior 21-2.

Filled up once getting here which isn’t cheap for a thirsty petrol V8.
No issues except for the 4 Amigos that decided to join in when we arrived at the hotel. FML
Oh yeah… we had to pull over and ask a local Scot where the airfield was located at. The older gent was more amazed that we had a left hand drive car than us being American. He said he’s only seen American cars in magazines.
