What is this leaking my oil so badly?
This leak is causing oil to run and drip in various misleading spots.
Appears all of it is coming from this thing. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...092f669aa.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...6c6e5d2bd.jpeg |
Power steering pump
|
If it's the power steering, fluid level in the reservoir goes down and you get steering problems. If not, could be front seal. The rotating shaft is smashing the oil around. That would explain the various misleading spots.

Leaking power steering pump.

Yep P/S pump!

Thank you for the responses- I have one more question.
The two hard lines running around the oil pan - I appear to have a leak from one of those. Best seen in the first pic. Are those oil cooler lines? Can the front most connection be disconnected without draining the oil? |
Those 2 lines are your transmission cooler lines I believe
|
Bumping this as I need clarification on what those two lines are running next to and up to the front of the oil pan are.
One is clearly leaking - has approx a 20-21mm nut and should be an o-ring thats leaking. Thanks for the help |
We told you once already, your PS pump is leaking on to the lines, the lines are not leaking the PS pump is. Replace the PS pump and then let us know if you still have leaks.

Now that I'm at my computer - I'll edit this clarify since you're reading comprehension isnt so great. Its quite obvious in the previous post that my original question was answered regarding the power steering pump - its the hose, not the pump, but thats irrelevant. I bumped the thread with a very specific question related to the pictures I had posted - WHAT are those metal tubes/lines running alongside the oil pan? One of those lines is clearly leaking from its o-ring, but I cant find what I'm looking for online to identify what those are so I can get the correct o-ring. Knowing what those lines are will also tell me if I need to drain the oil before doing that maintenance....... Hope that helps clarify why I bumped the thread and asked the very specific question about those lines that I did....... |
