Not to mention the value of the Defender is appreciating while a Disco's value plummets like a rock. You won't find the creature comforts of the Disco in a Defender but you'll find Defenders places a Discovery can't get to, which isn't many.

Here's a vid I took on Saturday. There's a D1, P38, D90 and then a D2 going over the same obstacle. I'm not sure of all the mods and specs for each vehicle but the Defender has crazy approach and departure angles.

I've been meaning to ask this same question in the defender section but haven't because I know I'll probably get flamed. You can buy all the best off-road components on the market and you still won't come close to the difference in price between a used defender and discovery. The huge market up in price has to be completely 'wow factor' of having something rare.

it seems once disco's hit the $10k point, the depresiation slows down. they say disco I's and II's might actully increase in value, if they dont bring the defender back to the us. (which makes the discos the last "real" land rovers, (solid suspension ect.)

That would be awesome if the Disco starts to appreciate. I like the technical specifications of the LR3 and want to get one for my girlfriend after we get married but I still like solid axles. I am planning to keep my Disco as long as possible.
