Web Designer, Developer.

I work for myself on a few choice clients and spend the rest of the time building web apps, so I can get rich and buy a diesel defender 110.

Latest project: popling.net It helps you learn a language, without studying.

I love this thread, some awesome professions here!

I'm a doctor. A radiologist to be exact.

I'm a marketing director for a medical data management, transcription editing and technology services company for large hospitals and healthcare facilities across the country and help physicians like DiscoRom become more efficient...and since I'm wearing my salesman hat today, what hospital or group do you read for DiscoRom and do you use speech recognition?

I basically talk with CFOs, medical record directors and revenue cycle management directors all day long explaining how we can reduce cost while increasing over-all satisfaction by using advanced speech recognition technology and labor services...Here is my elevator pitch:

Superior Global is a national provider of medical data management, transcription editing and advanced speech recognition technology for hospitals and healthcare facilities across the country and are a preferred provider with the
group purchasing organizations, Broadlane and HPG. We have successfully provided medical data management and technology services for several years for both HIM and Radiology with several healthcare systems including HCA, Baylor, Advocate, Trinity, Memorial Hermann, Peace Health, UMass, William Beaumont and Intermountain just to name a few. We are the largest speech recognition editing company in the country employ over 800 transcriptionists, editors and information technology engineers.

Have felt some of the pain of some of you. Before I got out of the land development scene, I was designing shopping complexes, parks, andmixed commercial/residential subdivisions all the way up to 2,000+ acres when they couldn't be built fast enough. Then, I watched business dry up to where people were walking away from deposits and builders were simply walking away from entire job sites in one day - even leaving their equipment just sitting where it was last turned off. Had job sites that looked like ghost towns. I, too, hope better times are just around the corner... for all.

RE: whats your occupation?
I ran a sucessful commercial photography studio specializing in fashion and catalogs but retired 3 years ago. Now my wife keeps me living in the style I have become accustomed to. Today I am babysitting 3 grandchildren, ages 4, 2 and 2 months. You could not pay me enough to do this for a living!
