Default Wheel/Tire suggestions

So i have 18" hurricanes on my '04 disco 2 and was considering going down to 16's(16x8 to be exact) since i can get them fairly inexpensive from most off road supply stores. I am looking at some ProComp wheels Pro Comp Wheels and Tires 7069-5865 - Pro Comp (Series 7069) 1-Piece Flat Black Finish Alloy Wheel with 5x4.5 Bolt Pattern - Quadratec. They have a back spacing of 4.0. Is anyone running these types of wheels or know if the back spacing will allow for proper clearance?

I am also thinking of wrapping them with some 265/70r16 general grabber AT2's.

If any one has any other suggestions, i am open to any. thanks!

Jeep wheels DO NOT fit a LR. If you stick with the 18's and that 2inch lift either use some 255/70R18's (popular size thanks to Jeep JK/JKU's with 18inch rims) Goodyear Duratrac, BFG KO2's are both available in that size. Or if you go with some LR 16's 265/75R16.

ok, thats good to know. The other suggestion i got was a 285/60R18. They are a little more pricey, but they are quite aggressive!

275/65r18 will fit good with a lift.

If you wind up parting with your Hurricane wheels... I may have interest in purchasing them. Please contact me if and when you decide. Thanks.

Check out the thread I just posted, I fit 275/65r16's with minimal rubbing. I will probably want to trim the bumper but otherwise they fit OK. I'm happy.

Also, realize the taller tire you go with, the more sluggish the vehicle will be if you don't re-gear. A disco isn't much of a power house to begin with and any change in tire height will make it worse driving on the highway, especially if you tow a trailer.

With the stock 19" rim, if I don't want an "off-road tire" what size works? 275/45/19??? Will that fit or no??

The Discovery 2 never came with a stock 19" rim.

Those were only stock on Range Rovers.
