Most of the time its the hub, which has to be replaced as a unit. You might get lucky and it might be the o ring but I doubt it. Mine looked just like that and it was the hub.

O-Ring? Gear oil level?
For the sake of saving money I would obviously like to try the O-ring or outer seal first before buying a new hub.. Is the o-ring an easy fix? I am very well skilled in fixing trucks so I have no problem doing things myself.. I assume putting my new brake set-up on with gear oil everywhere is a bad idea...
Also checking gear oil level.. is there an eye-hole? how do I check it on the Disco??
Thanks a ton guys

see attached from RAVE shop manual, which you need to download for light reading of "Brit Lit".
Also, in case it has not been mentioned, there is a vent line from the axle that runs from a banjo bolt up to a "shepherd crook" vent. Ths allows oil vapor to escape when it evaporates. If plugged with mud chiggerz, it can build up a slight pressure and vent axle oil thru the hub seals. So be sure to remove the banjo bolt and clean it and blow out the line.
