They mangle your wiring so that the fuse for the oxy sensors blow constantly.

They leave your crank sensor 1/2 plugged in.

They don't machine your heads.

https://landroverforums.com/forum/at...ine=1356645852

They don't know how to bleed your cooling system.

They somehow route your throttle cable under the plenum.

They use spark plug wires off of whatever they can find and just stick them wherever.

They also break just about everything not made of 1/4" plate steel.

They also twist your SAI pipes until they snap and just leave them like that.
They also leave 1/2 the bolts out of the accessory mounts, leave your sai pipe loose with no clamps on it, and don't bolt the coil pack in.

Very true. Having a reliable and trusted source is worth its weight in gold.

So true, kind of like taking your car to Midas or the local $69 brake shop.

and I'm sure the customer had to pay for all those "favors" the shop did them. I don't understand how shops like that stay in business, but they are unfortunately, everywhere!

For our D1
My garage mechanic in Kirkland / Seattle tried to fix my steering bushings twice.
Said oil was degrading them.
Marks Imports.

So, $400 spent on new bushing. Only on driver's side.

Got a few months of good steering.

But, again - bushing went bad.

Take it back
Said oil leak from transmission was rotting the bushing
(Yeah, the cheap made in China $10 bushing I am betting).
I called him on this fact... Would not conform or deny the source of the bushing
$900 spent on new bushing and transmission cooler lines.
Things are better..
He was right about the transmission lines leaking oil all over..
But, does that oil actually trash the bushings?? Maybe the made in China bushings.

A few months later.. steering really really bad.
Death wobble.

I buy poly bushings for Lucky8.
Put them in - in the parking lot a few weeks ago.
Hack saw and all that.

And, I AM NOT jumping the D1 over medians or curbs now.. Ever again.
and it is working well - so far.

Cost $45 and 4 hours of dirty with gloves on.

Rovermastertech,
Thanks for the writeup.
As always..

I hate to let anyone touch my truck. I only let people I trust look at it under the hood, much less drive it. And when the day comes that I need to take it to a professional shop it's going to an indy rover mechanic.
