Wiring Land Rover for trailer towing
I am putting this out here as a PSA.
Trying to find anyone that could explain how to set up a Land Rover (or any other vehicle) with a 4 pin (yellow, green, brown, white) plug to be able to tow an RV with the standard 7 blade RV connection was impossible. Here is the best way to set up your Land Rover for towing a trailer that requires trailer brakes. Credit goes to Dan @Tekonsha and etrailer.com 1) Spend the money and buy the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller Brake Controllers - Tekonsha 2) You will need a 4-pole to 7-way adapter like part # 37185. 3) In addition to the lighting functions provided by the 4-pole, you will also need to run the black 12-V power wire from the adapter to the positive battery terminal via a 40 amp circuit breaker part #9510 4) A length of 10 gauge wire would also be needed. The power wire is needed to supply the power module mounted on the trailer. 5)The white wire with the ring terminal would be grounded to the vehicle frame. - The Brake Control Module utilizes the left and right turn/brake signals (yellow & green) to activate the trailer brakes. No blue wire needed - The system is designed to run off of the black power going to the battery with a recommended 40 amp breaker. - The black power wire also charges the RV battery while connected. etrailer write-up & diagram found here: Wiring Tow Vehicle to Work With Tekonsha Prodigy RF # 90250 | etrailer.com General Questions about the Prodigy RF Brake Controller found here: Installing the Prodigy RF Brake Controller on 2010 Range Rover HSE | etrailer.com Scroll to bottom. |

Just seen two on ebay under land rover emblems and decals in the auto section.

I used the Tekonsha P3 and wired my Disco using the instructions included with it. It was pretty easy.
I tried the RV type sockets but found they didn't hold up with off-roading, so converted to a metal one. |

Do you know if it is a metal decal/plaque or is it a sticker? Paul |
