Does your fuel pump come on?
Put your ear to the floor in the cargo area and have a friend turn the key to the "ON" position, you know the one, the one where all the dash lights come on but NOT the one where you crank the engine over.
Do you hear the fuel pump come on?
It should come on and run for 15-30 seconds and then shut back off.

Where is the fuel pump fuse and relay? With the fuses under the hood on passenger side? There is also a smaller black box with 2 wire harnesses on it near the fuses, what is this? I ask cause it is not mounted anymore, it broke off the mount.

Fuel pump fuses are good. Not sure where relay is though.

The fuel pump relay is under the hood.

What I would suggest is to clear out the rear cargo area, lift the carpet, mats and pad or whatever is left in yours. There is a black metal plate screwed into the floorboard. Remove the plate (6 screws I think it was).

You should then be looking directly at the top of the fuel pump/sending assembly. There is a connector on the left side. You can check there for the 12 volt input to the fuel pump. If you do have the 12 volts, the fuel pump is bad.

I recently replaced mine due to a split in the line at the plastic top of the fuel pump sender assembly. A brand new ProLine assembly for my 97 was only $105 from Rovers North.

You need to know what EVAP system you have, the advanced evap loss system is the expensive one.
And no they are not interchangeable.

I bought my fuel pump at AutoZone last year, $450.

Standard Evap system.WHew! Saw the proline pump/sender on Rovers North for $104. Was this an easy repair? Or leave it to a pro? Looks like an easy swap. Any tricks to doing this/ special steps?

Once you have all the parts it should only take you a hour.
Check locally for a fuel pump too and see if you can save on shipping.

The hardest part is getting the retaining ring off.
