XYZ Switch Connector Stuck

XYZ Switch Connector Stuck
Soo, the xyz (neutral safety switch) on my '04 Discovery 2 just doesn't seem to want to unplug. I even used a flat head to try and help, but I didn't go crazy with it because I don't want to screw it up. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I depressed the tab on the one side, but it just doesn't let go. Anyone experience this before or have any advice? It's insanely frustrating.

I don't know how much this will help, but did you remove it from the "tab" on which it is mounted. If I recall correctly, it makes it easier to disconnect that way. And this may be silly advice, but I always lie with my feet toward the passenger side when accessing the XYZ. I find that easier.

I appreciate the suggestion. Yeah I also found feet towards passenger to be easier. As far as the bracket mount it's on I ended up unscrewing it from the transmission in an attempt to free the xyz switch. The little clip looking bit on the side is rusty and wouldn't come free. :-/

I realize I forgot to update this thread, but the metal clip that the connector is holding on to is actually going through and holding the connector together. You have to remove the connector from the clip in order to pull the connector apart due to a secure hub that sticks out when the connector is together. I'd attach a picture but it's not liking me at the moment.
