Automated Park Exit

I have a 2016 plate disco sport HSE and one its parking features is "park assist". this is an automated means of the car exiting a perpendicular parking position. like most owners, I rarely faff around with using these aids but recently tried Park Exit when I was in no hurry. I was alarmed when I had to suddenly intervene and grab the wheel as we veered within what looked like millimetres of the car parked to my right. I tried this again when parked next to my wife car on our driveway a few days later and felt the need to intervene again. I asked my local dealership to take a look and they diagnosed a faulty parking audio alarm then handed me the car back, clearly not understanding the problem. On speaking to them they also could not confirm how Park Exit was supposed to work, falling back on a predictable (we'd never advise anyone to hand steering control completely over to the car). I am fairly sure this is utter **** but would welcome any input from drivers that have used or even had issues with this.

used it. works. dont use it anymore.

you are suppose to pay attention to what the car is doing at all times. and hit he brakes if anything looks suspicious.
