2002 freelander won't start.

My freelander blew a coolant hose while I was driving on the highway. I took the closest exit which dumped me into a parking lot at Costco. (Don't ever break down at Costco. Rudeness beyond anything I have ever experienced) Anyway, I was trying to just apply a quick patch on the hose and limp the vehicle home and I left the battery connected Rookie mistake I know. Don't worry it gets worse. I managed to to touch the hot wire to the alternator to the casing with the battery connected and the key in the accessory position. Yes there was sparks. Yes I understand how stupid it was. Now when I turn the key everything on the interior of the vehicle works but when I try to start the car absolutely nothing happens. The lovely people at Costco called the cops on me for being in their parking lot after the store closed and I am over an hour from home. Can't afford a tow truck. Any help with where to start would be appreciated. I am unfamiliar with the layout of a land Rover however, I do have experience working on automobiles. Thanks in advance.
